SURGERY WON'T STOP ZARETZKE

Four weeks after major surgery, 1998 Evergreen Speedway Champion John Zaretzke is ready to win his dream race. Zaretzke, a second generation Super Stock Champion, has won some of the biggest NASCAR Touring races on the West Coast, including the Phoenix NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Tour race last October.

Zaretzke holds the record for the most wins in a row and most wins in a season as part of the NASCAR Weekly Racing Series at Evergreen Speedway. One race has eluded him and it is the NASCAR Raybestos Series race at Evergreen "Everyone thought that my win at Phoenix would be the most important race of my life", Zaretzke said, "but my career could be complete if I could win the Big O Tire 125 Saturday night. I haven't driven a race car since the surgery "John said", I feel fine and I am ready to go.

The Big O Tire 125 begins Saturday night, March 30th at 7:00 pm. On the same program is the Doug James Memorial NSRA Open Wheel Sprint Car Invitational, featuring Shawna Wilskey World of Outlaw competitor driving for former Unlimited Hydroplane Champion Scott Pierce.
