BRAKES NORTHWEST SERIES AWARDS CEREMONY |

HELD AT THE Rialto Theatre IN Tacoma

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (July 1 2002) – The 2002 Raybestos Brakes
Northwest Series, NASCAR Touring awards ceremony will be held
Saturday, Oct. 19 at the historic Rialto Theater in Tacoma, Wash. Over
$60,000 in point fund awards will be distributed to the top finishers
in this year’s Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series campaign.

The Rialto, a 742-seat theater, originally served as an art-deco
movie palace and now hosts the Tacoma Youth Symphony and the Northwest
Sinfonietta. The Oct. 19 celebration will honor the 18th champion in
the history of the Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series. Last season,
Kevin Hamlin of Snohomish, Wash. became the youngest champion in
series’ history by capturing the title at age 22. Hamlin has dominated
the 2002 season, winning four of the series’ first five races and
establishing a commanding points lead ahead of Chris Hart and Troy
Conrad.
In addition to the series championship and point fund awards, the
Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series awards ceremony will honor special
award winners including the Gatorade Front Runner Award, Bud Pole
Award, Rookie of the Year, 76 Gasoline Award, Most Popular Driver and
special championship awards from Goodyear Tire.
