Jefferson is one of the hottest late model stock car driver’s in
the Northwest having captured two NASCAR Weekly Racing Series
presented by Dodge track championships, a Raybestos Brakes Northwest
Series main event victory, and a win in the Goodyear Challenge race
held at Evergreen Speedway. The Naches, Wash. native also became the
first driver to win a NASCAR Weekly Racing Series presented by Dodge
main event behind the wheel of a Dodge Intrepid.
Vahikura has fielded cars for up and coming talent including Gaylon
Stewart and Takuma Koga. Stewart was the last driver to campaign the
Chevrolet on the series, guiding it to a top-10 finish on March 30 in
the Raybestos Brakes Northwest Series season opener.
“I’m proud to be a part of this team for an exciting weekend at
Wenatchee Valley,” Jefferson said. “This is a good car and the crew
and I are going to work hard to give Ken and our sponsors a good run
against the Northwest’s best.”
Sponsors for the No. 97 Chevrolet this weekend include PSPInc.com,
Northwest Racing Enterprises, Red Lion Hotel of Wenatchee, BBS
Distributing, Inc., and Valley Power Sports.
The Northwest Racing Enterprises 150 will be televised as part of
SPEED Channel’s Monday, October 14 line-up. Jefferson is excited about
the opportunity to showcase his talents and Vahikura’s race car to a
national audience.
“This is a great deal to race on national television, so for Ken to
give me an opportunity to drive in this race is really awesome. We can
get this car close to the front, like we had in Tri-Cities (site of
his Labor Day Northwest Series win, his first on the series). If that
can happen for Northwest Racing Enterprises as the evening’s sponsor
it would be even better,” Jefferson said.
The Northwest Racing Enterprises 150 is set for September 28 at
Wenatchee Valley’s Super Oval. For more information log onto
