Eddy McKean was the second fastest in qualifying with a time of
18.420 but due to the inversion he started the race in the 8th
position. Although he started 8th he didn't stay there long he worked
his way up into 4th and continued to run there for most of the race
but, as luck would have it Eddy McKean managed to finish in 3rd place.
The entire team is very happy with their 3rd place finish, they never
ran under 19 seconds all day during practice. "Crew Chief, Marc
Lundgren made some major changes right before qualifying and we landed
second fastest." "What a surprise, but we didn't know what the long
run would do to us, we had a 6th or 7th place car but with some luck
we landed 3rd." "Just enough to slide by Burney Lamar for the points
lead." "I couldn't have done this well without the help of Victory
Circle, HPS Mechanical and especially all the hard work by the entire
team." McKean said.
Eddy McKean said he plans to enjoy the points lead while he can, the
top 4 are very close and you just never know how things may change
from week to week. Right now the team is getting ready for Stockton
they had a real good test there and can't wait to get to the race.
