REVIEW:
Sean
Woodside, who won his third consecutive Bud Pole Award, dashed into
the early lead and set the pace for the first 72 circuits. Brendan
Gaughan shadowed Woodside in the early stages of the event, before
moving to the front with Kevin Richards in his wake. Richards
challenged Gaughan for the top spot, with the pair swapping the lead
back and forth. Richards ran out of fuel and dropped off the pace,
however, leaving Gaughan to run out front for the majority of the
remaining laps. Johnny Borneman charged to a runner-up finish, with
Woodside taking third.

·
Brendan
Gaughan

winner of the award. Those with one Bud Pole at Irwindale include
Cameron, Dotter, Gaughan, Butch Gilliland, Sammy Potashnick
and Mark Reed.

running out front for 674 laps.

Sixty-nine different drivers have taken the green flag in the eight
series races at Irwindale Speedway. Seven drivers – Cameron, Gaughan,
Portenga, Potashnick, Sedgwick, Eric Norris and Kevin
Richards – competed in all eight of those events.
·
A

races at Irwindale.
